Veronica Roth is bringing you new books... That's right! Divergent's author! Oh yeah. But this time, the world is not as you know it. The relatability can be found in simple things. Such as loss, or remorse. Guilt and grief will take you over. Etc, etc, other depressing themes.
Carve the Mark is a great book. The chemistry between the characters, the suspense build up, the battles, the flashbacks, the all-round greatness, it just sweeps you off your feet. You are left wanting MORE of the SAME, but in the best way. You want to know what happens. You want to know why, who when, where, how. You feel like you need more. (The book is addictive is what I'm trying to say.)
The Fates Divide doesn't quench that first. It isn't as fast paced. It isn't as blood spattered as the first one. I wasn't rooting for Cyra and mourning with Akos. I just see ink on paper. And it seems CRAZY that I would drag a book down to the standard of "Just ink on paper," but thats all this book was to me. The standard was lowered to a sappy love story. Sorry if you were hyped for this series. its 1/2 good. No, let me reword it. it's 1/2 BRILLIANT and 1/2 ehhh... maybe I'll stop reading two sentences in. Maybe I'll flick and see if it picks up the pace halfway through. Oh, wait-it doesn't!
Okay, thanks for reading my ramblings.
Also, maybe you could read the books and see what you like about them?
